A successful career

Nowadays, no one has any time, and if you are employed, it will be fast pasted environment.  It means to get noticed as a professional, you either need a lot of money to advertise yourself and put your trust in recruitment services or do a lot of the leg work for you. The advent of social media has enabled anyone to have a platform and a global voice, but this also makes marketing yourself even more competitive.

What about you? Have you ever thought about how you ‘as a professional person‘ look to other people? We, as human beings, are very complex and have many different layers in our personalities. It could be our downfall when it comes to getting noticed online. Clarity and consistency and being understood clearly is a must when it comes to communication. If you have many interests, it may help you as a business person to tone down some of your skills and focus on the lucrative ones.

What was the project brief?

I had the chance to work with one of Microsoft’s account managers. I got involved in designing an attractive advert located in the entrance area of a high street store, advertising an upgrade of Microsoft’s Outlook software.

Working once again with Microsoft

A few years went by, and the same account manager contacted me while I was in a full-time role at Decor Fusion in Manchester City Centre.

He wanted me to support launching a campaign with a short deadline date, we accommodated his request, and the rest of the employers at Decor Fusion were able to ‘pull it out the bag‘ and get the job done.
